I have to admit, I was a little sceptical at first. Being Eastern European, I’m not usually a fan of English cakes ,I often find them too dry and way too sweet. After seeing some not-so-great reviews, I was even more worried. But honestly… I had absolutely nothing to worry about!
This cake was far beyond our expectations. It was for my daughter’s first birthday celebration. Unfortunately, she didn’t actually get to taste it (she only managed to touch the cake and get a tiny bit of chocolate 😂), but I’m pretty sure she’ll be enjoying it in the years to come because we have finally found our favourite cake brand!
All of our guests were genuinely impressed. Several of them kept asking me to send them the link to the company or tell them the name because they couldn’t believe how delicious the cake actually was!
And the taste… WOW. 🍫💚
Although it looks very chocolatey and you might expect it to be the kind of cake where after two bites you feel overwhelmed by sweetness, it was actually the complete opposite. The cake was light, soft and incredibly smooth, almost like a chocolate mousse. The pistachio flavour was authentic and delicious, and it wasn’t drowned out by sweetness at all. And the crunchy kataifi layer was the perfect little surprise — it added such a lovely texture and made every bite even better.
Even the guests who usually don’t eat much cake were happily finishing their slices!
A huge thank you also for the excellent delivery and packaging. The cake arrived absolutely perfect with zero damage. The special dry ice kept it beautifully chilled, and the decoration was done perfectly. Everything was clearly handled with so much care.
