How much wedding cake do I need?

How much does a wedding cake cost?

Patisserie Valerie wedding cakes start from around £40 for elegant one tier designs and £80–£90 for our two tier showpieces. Premium centenary editions and signature pieces like the Centenary Edition Luxury Black Forest Gateau sit in the £85–£100 range. Qualifying orders include free next-day UK delivery, with an optional personalised gift card available at checkout.

How far in advance can I order my wedding cake?

You can order up to 90 days ahead via our Nominated Day delivery service. We recommend ordering 2–4 weeks before your wedding date. Last-minute orders are possible with our next-day delivery (cut-off 4pm Monday–Friday, 2pm Saturday).

Do you deliver wedding cakes across the UK?

Yes, we deliver handmade wedding cakes nationwide across the UK mainland, including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Edinburgh and Cardiff. Our courier service runs Tuesday to Sunday (no deliveries Mondays or Bank Holidays).

How are the cakes delivered and packaged?

Every wedding cake is hand-finished, carefully frozen, and dispatched in our recyclable paper-based ClimaLiner™ thermal packaging with dry ice. This protects the cake's design and flavour in transit so it arrives in pristine condition, needing only a few hours to defrost before serving.

How do I store and serve a frozen wedding cake?

On arrival, place the cake (still in its box) in the fridge to defrost for 3–10 hours depending on size. Keep refrigerated until 30 minutes before serving. Once defrosted, consume within 48 hours for best quality.

What wedding cake flavours are most popular?

Our most-loved wedding cake flavours are vanilla buttercream, chocolate fudge, elderflower & rose, and the Centenary Edition Black Forest gateau with kirsch, our 100-year tribute recipe. For a varied dessert table, pair a vanilla tier with pistachio, raspberry or salted caramel French macarons.

Can I customise the flavour or design of my wedding cake?

Our wedding cakes are designed and prepared in advance for consistency and quality, so we don't customise flavours or alter designs. Every cake can be personalised with an inscription, plus an optional gift card at checkout.

Yes, every Patisserie Valerie wedding cake is lovingly handmade in our UK bakery, finished with hand-piping and decorated with care. We've been hand-crafting cakes since Madame Valerie opened the first Patisserie Valerie in London's Soho in 1926.
